			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The black and white cookies are a classic in New York City; also known as a half and half cookie or a half moon. Soft, sponge cake-like shortbread which is iced on one half with vanilla fondant, and on the other half by dark chocolate fondant. </p>
<p>Back in the day, they were actually made by bakeries from their leftover cake batters but are nowadays seen as a staple New York snack ! Their popularity increased recently after a famous Seinfeld episode.. in Jerry &#8217;s words &#8221; I love the black and white. Two races of flavor living side by side in harmony. It&#8217;s a wonderful thing isn&#8217;t it? The key to eating a black and white cookie, is to get some black and some white in each bite..Nothing mixes better than, vanilla and chocolate. If people would only *Look to the Cookie* &#8212; all our problems would be solved &#8221;<br />
