Description
The devil’s cake is a moist, airy, rich chocolate layer cake with a thick chocolate frosting.
Using cocoa and milk instead of melted chocolate is what distinguishes a ‘devil’s food cake’ from the standard chocolate cake. This cake was introduced in the United States in the early 20th century with the first recipe printed in 1905.
